Welcome to Sunday Diaries

Sharing honest thoughts on life, self-care, and travels in my 50s.

My Journey

Hello friends,

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here to join me on this Sunday, and every Sunday, for "Sunday Diaries." My name is Susan, and I'm thrilled to launch this blog as a space to share this exciting chapter of my life in my 50s. We'll explore everything from travel adventures and self-care tips to health insights, home life, and family moments.

To tell you a little about myself, I'm 53 years old and have a bustling family with 5 children of my own, plus 3 wonderful stepchildren with my partner, Dennis. Our family is continually growing, and we currently have 9 grandchildren with twins on the way! Dennis and I share a quiet life together, working at a local DC and enjoying our cozy home. It's a place we've filled with our favorite mid-century modern furniture, vintage audio, and unique retro pieces, all gathered over the years from flea markets and thrift stores—each item tells a story.

We love spending our free time outdoors, whether we're camping, taking spontaneous micro-adventures, fishing, hiking, or tending to our garden. On weekends, we make an effort to live an analog life, focusing on being intentional and present at home and with our loved ones.

Sundays, in particular, are my dedicated days. They're for me—whether it's pampering myself with hair and nails, diving into a good book, writing, or experimenting with a new recipe. It’s my time to reflect on the past week and plan for the one ahead.

My hope is that this blog brings you comfort and connection as I share real-life experiences. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, then you've found the right spot! I'd love to hear from you—please feel free to comment with any topics you'd like me to write about, or suggestions on how I can make "Sunday Diaries" even better. Your feedback means a lot to me.

I look forward to connecting with you next Sunday!

Thank you again for stopping by. Until then!
